தமிழர் பேரவையின் கல்வி உதவி நிதி

ஜனவரி 5-ஆம் தேதி அன்று உமறு புலவர் தமிழ் மொழி நிலைய அரங்கில் நடைபெற்ற தமிழர் பேரவையின் கல்வி உதவி நிதி வழங்கும் நிகழ்ச்சியில் சுமார் 130 தொடக்கநிலை மாணவர்களுக்கு 25,000 வெள்ளிக்கு மேல் நிதி உதவி கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

இம்மாணவர்கள் தமிழை இரண்டாம் மொழியாக கற்பதோடு அவர்கள் மொத்த குடும்ப வருமானம் ஈராயிரம் வெள்ளிக்கும் குறைவானது.

பீஷான் – தோ பாயோ குழுத்தொகுதி நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் திரு ஹரி குமார் நாயர் நிகழ்ச்சியில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக கலந்துகொண்டார். பல சமூக தலைவர்களும் நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு வருகை அளித்திருந்தனர். புத்தாண்டிற்கு இது ஓர் அர்த்தமுள்ள தொடக்கமாகவே அமைந்தது.

TRC Bursary Awards

Some 130 primary students received more than $25,000 in total during the annual TRC Bursary Awards which was held at Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre Auditorium on 5 January 2013. Children who learn Tamil as their second language and with a total family income of $2000 & below were given the awards to assist them in their studies.

Mr Hri Kumar Nair, MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC graced the event and presented the awards. The event was well attended by community leaders such as Dr T Chandroo, Haji Abdul Jaleel, Mr Rajasegar, Mr Rajaram, Mr Harikrishnan and many others.

The awards ceremony received good coverage from the Indian media. It was a meaningful start to the New Year as TRC is dedicated to ensuring every Tamil child born in Singapore is not deprived of education merely because of financial difficulties.
