To be the leading organization representing Tamils and Tamil Community Organizations in Singapore. 

To uplift the educational, economic and social status of Tamils in Singapore and represent their interests within and outside Singapore.

• To promote and safeguard the interests of the Tamil speaking community in the Republic of Singapore. 
• To foster unity, equality and fraternity amongst the Tamil speaking community in the Republic of Singapore.
• To encourage co-operative and thrift movements amongst the Tamil speaking community in the Republic of Singapore.
• To conduct Tamil classes, Tamil libraries and to take such measures as will promote Tamil education and culture including wherever necessary, the establishment and organization of clubs or branches in various districts in the Republic of Singapore. Such clubs or branches may not be set up in districts where an affiliate of the Council is already in existence, functioning and serving under the name of that particular district.
• To adopt measures to wipe out illiteracy amongst the Tamil speaking community in the Republic of Singapore.
• To promote industries and industrial education amongst the Tamil speaking community in the Republic of Singapore.
• To co-ordinate Tamil educational, cultural, welfare, social, economic, sports and co-operative activities in the Republic of Singapore, not only between member organizations but also with other organizations with similar objectives.
• To take steps to help destitute and orphans amongst the Tamil speaking community in the Republic of Singapore.
• To establish a headquarters and centre for the cultural activities of the Tamil speaking community in the Republic of Singapore.
• To print and publish books, periodicals and pamphlets which will aid in achieving the object or herein.
• To actively promote, encourage and coach the youth in the Tamil community to succeed as leaders of the community in the future.
• To cultivate, promote and foster the exchange of ideas and understanding between the Tamils and other cultures.
• To do any or all such other things as are incidental to and/or conducive to the attainment of the aforesaid objects.
