கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் விழா 2012

சிங்கப்பூர் தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் கழகம் ஆண்டுதோறும் கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் விழாவை ஏற்பாடு செய்து வருகிறது. இவ்வாண்டு அக்டோபர் 14-ஆம் தேதி அருள்மிகு ஸ்ரீ தண்டாயுதபாணி கோவிலில் இவ்விழா நடைபெற்றது. நிகழ்ச்சியில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக வளர்தமிழ் இயக்கத்தின் தலைவர் திரு ஆர் ராஜாராம் கலந்துகொண்டார். முந்நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்டவர்கள் விழாவிற்கு வருகை தந்திருந்தனர்.

இந்தியாவின் தமிழர் பண்பாட்டு ஆய்வு மையத்தின் தலைவர் திரு செ மருதுமோகன், ஜவஹர்லால் நேரு பல்கலைகழகத்தின் பேராசிரியர் கே நாச்சிமுத்து ஆகியோர் கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் பற்றியும் அவரது படைப்புகள் பற்றியும் சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார்கள். கண்ணதாசன் பாட்டுப்போட்டியின் இறுதிச்சுற்றும் அன்று நடைபெற்றது.

அதோடு எழுத்து படைப்புகளில் ஏதேனும் ஒரு பிரிவில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் சிங்கப்பூர் தமிழ் இளையர்களுக்கு ஆங்கீகாரம் அளிக்கும் வகையில் இவ்வாண்டு கண்ணதாசன் விருது அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இவ்விருதை முதன் முதலில் பெற்றவர் நாம் நன்கு அறிந்த திரு ஷபிர் தபாரே. பல விருதுகளை வென்றிருக்கும் ஷபிர் இந்த விருதை சிறப்பாக கருதுகிறார். ஏனெனில் அவர் பாடல் இயற்றுவதற்கு அவருடைய மனங்கவர் கவிஞர் கண்ணதாசனின் பாடல்களும் தூண்டுதலாக அமைந்திருக்கின்றன. இந்த விருது அவரை மேலும் ஊக்குவிக்கும் என ஷபிர் நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்தார்.

ஷபிருக்கு நம் வாழ்த்துக்கள். இளம் கலைஞர்களை ஊக்குவிக்க முயற்சி மேற்கொண்டிருக்கும் சிங்கப்பூர் தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் கழகத்திற்கு பாராட்டுக்கள்.

Kaviarasu Kannadasan Vizha 2012

The Association of Singapore Tamil Writers has been organising the “Kaviarasu Kannadasan Vizha” annually. This year’s event was held on 14 October 2012 at the Arimigu Sree Thandayuthapani Temple. Mr R Rajaram, Chairman of Tamil Language Council was the Guest of Honour. More than 300 people were present to grace the occasion.

Guest Speakers from India (Mr S Maruthamogan, Chairman, Tamil Cultural Research Centre, Tamil Nadu & Professor K Naatchimuthu from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi) spoke on aspects of Kannadasan and his literary works.

The finals of the Kannadasan Singing Competition were also held on the day.

In addition the organisers had for the first time introduced the “Kannadasan Award” to recognise and promote our young talents (below 40 years), who have excelled in any one aspect of written literature.

The first recipient of this award was none other than Mr Shabir Tabare. Shabir has won many awards in the past, but this was something special as this award was in the name of his idol poet who had been an inspiration for him to start writing songs. He further stated that this award will serve as a motivating factor to do even more.

We wish Shabir all the best and congratulate the Association of Singapore Tamil Writers for their efforts in promoting our young talents.
