Lifetime Achievement Award

Sembawang Tamils’ Association held an appreciation dinner on 13 October 2012, for one of its members, Mr. M. Thangarasan for recently having received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ that was presented to deserving Tamil teachers in Singapore. Thus as to commemorate this special award, an Appreciation Dinner was held at the premises of Sembawang Tamils’ Association’s Before & After School Care centre (HQ) at Yishun.

Dr. R. Theyvendran graced this dinner with his presence. The Vice President of Sembawang Tamils’ Association gave the opening speech followed by two former students of Mr. M. Thangarasan. They spoke about the many contributions that he has given to the Tamil community in Singapore. Dr. R. Theyvendran did the honour of garlanding and presenting a gold shawl, plaque and a cash voucher to Mr. M. Thangarasan. The ceremony ended with guests helping themselves to sumptuous food.
