On 7th Jul 2012 SINDA’s Volunteers’ Tea was held at Nanyang Polytechnic auditorium. 81 volunteers were honoured in this event which is held every two years.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean, Chairman and Life trustee of SINDA’s Board of Trustee’s,Deputy Prime Minister,Minister for Finance and Minister for Manpower Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and SINDA Advisor Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, life trustees Mr S.Dhanabalan and Mr S. Chandra Das and SINDA’s President, Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC Indranee Rajah.

In his speech Mr Teo noted that SINDA had more than 1300 volunteers, with more than half being long-term volunteers. Mr Teo also noted that there were 300 new volunteers, an encouraging sign that more people are coming on board to help out in this worthy cause.

This event was attended by TRC’s Vice-President, Mr A R Mashuthoo, Council Member Mr M Kunasekanan and 15 volunteers.
